Rising Food Blog Invites Random Home Cooks To Test Recipes

The fabled kitchen blog LunaRegina.com takes up challenges by having amateur home cooks over to check out the effortlessness of their recipes.

LunaRegina.com announced Tuesday they’re looking into making cook instruction videos with the help of random guest home cooks.

“The team has been doing all the cooking by ourselves over the past couple months,” said the food and kitchen blog’s co-founder Natalie Ellis.

“So we’d develop a recipe, and we’d make the dish. That was easy for us.”

“But we now want to make sure the recipes are truly easy, and the instructions clear enough for everyone. If a fifth grader checks out a recipe at Luna’s, they should be able to make the dish with no difficulty, given all the tools and ingredients,” stated Ellis, who graduated from an Business Management program earlier this year.

The team is now sending invites to home cooks in the area. They hope to have one or two guests over at their San Francisco-based kitchen studio per week.

According to Ellis, all necessary gadgets and ingredients will be prepared by the team in advance, but guests will only receive the recipe minutes before the testing starts.

Successful performances will appear in LunaRegina’s cooking videos, while recipes that are found too complicated will be revised, Ellis revealed.

Guests will also be invited to share their own home legacy recipes.

“Our mission is to make wholesome, healthy eating more of an effortless, cost-effective and time-efficient option than fast foods. Our recipes must reflect that,” said Ellis.

LunaRegina.com was founded in 2016 by Ellis and her best friend Luna Regina, and has quickly become a well-visited address for home cooks who want to find wholesome recipes, easy peasy kitchen tips, as well as advice and buying guides for kitchen gadgets such as masticating juicers or water pitchers.

Early in 2017, the business opened an essay contest among university students in an attempt to promote wholesome eating. 237 applications were recorded after the first 6 months. In July 2017, the $1000 scholarship was awarded to Zivile Vebraite, a student from the University of Rochester - New York who wrote an excellent essay on how healthy eating has changed his life.
